Glutathione IV: Frequently Asked Questions

Everything we get asked about Glutathione IV at Prime IV Sandy — answered honestly, by the people who do the drips.

Frequently asked questions

What is Glutathione IV?

Glutathione is the tripeptide your liver uses for nearly every detoxification reaction in the body. It also happens to be the most powerful intracellular antioxidant we know of. Oral glutathione barely makes it through your gut — IV bypasses that entirely.

What's in the Glutathione IV drip?

Reduced glutathione (GSH), Optional Vitamin C and B-complex add-on, in a sterile saline carrier.

How long does a Glutathione IV session take?

20–30 minutes. You sit comfortably in a recliner the entire time.

How much does Glutathione IV cost?

Standard pricing varies by dose and add-ons. New customers at Prime IV Sandy can claim the $85 introductory offer for their first session.

Who is Glutathione IV best for?

(Skin clarity and brightening), (Heavy alcohol or medication recovery), (Chronic illness support), (Anti-aging stacks), (Athletes with high oxidative load).

Is Glutathione IV safe?

Yes — when administered by trained medical staff in a clinical setting. Every Prime IV Sandy client completes a health intake on their first visit, and our clinical team will not perform any infusion without appropriate medical clearance.

Do I need a prescription for Glutathione IV?

Standard Glutathione IV protocols do not require a prescription. Iron infusion and certain higher-dose specialty protocols do require physician oversight and lab work — we'll let you know during your intake if any specific protocol needs additional clearance.

Will Glutathione IV interact with my medications?

Most Glutathione IV protocols are safe with common medications, but always tell us about everything you take during your health intake. Specific interactions worth flagging: chemotherapy, blood thinners, immunosuppressants, lithium. Always disclose these.

Can I get Glutathione IV during pregnancy?

Some protocols are safe in pregnancy with OB clearance; many are not. We will not perform any IV therapy on a pregnant patient without explicit clearance from the prescribing OB/GYN.

How often should I get Glutathione IV?

Frequency depends on your goal. Maintenance protocols are typically every 2–4 weeks. Acute use (illness, post-race, post-flight) is one-off. Loading protocols (e.g. NAD+) are clustered over 1–2 weeks then maintained.

Will I feel Glutathione IV working immediately?

Many clients report effects during or right after the drip — clearer head, more energy, hydrated feeling. Some effects (especially longevity-focused ones) take days or sessions to compound.

What should I do before a Glutathione IV session?

Hydrate normally. Eat a normal meal. Don't fast — we'd rather have you well-fueled. Bring your phone or a book; you'll have 30+ minutes to relax.

What should I do after a Glutathione IV session?

Continue hydrating with water and electrolytes. Most clients return to normal activity immediately; some prefer to take it easy for an hour or two.

Can I work out after Glutathione IV?

Yes, in most cases. For high-volume hydration drips, give it 1–2 hours so you're not running to the bathroom mid-workout. For NAD+ loading sessions, take the rest of the day easy.

Does Glutathione IV have side effects?

Most clients have no side effects. The most common are mild: cool sensation at the IV site, brief flushing from B-complex, magnesium-related warm feeling. Serious adverse events are rare and managed in-clinic.

How do I prepare if I'm afraid of needles?

Tell us. Our staff is experienced with needle-anxious clients. Most people are surprised how minor the actual stick is — and once the IV is in, you don't feel anything for the rest of the session.

Can I bring someone with me?

Yes. Many clients bring a partner, friend, or family member, especially for first visits. There's seating in the drip room.

Is Glutathione IV covered by insurance?

IV vitamin therapy is generally not covered by insurance — it's elective and falls outside standard medical coverage. Some clients use HSA or FSA cards, depending on plan rules.

Where do you offer Glutathione IV?
