What’s in the drip
- Lactated Ringer’s solution — rapid rehydration with balanced electrolytes
- B-complex + B12 — alcohol metabolism consumes B-vitamins; this replaces them
- Magnesium — the headache and muscle-ache magnesium story is real
- Zofran (on request) — anti-nausea, for clients who can’t keep fluids down
- Toradol (on request) — prescription-strength anti-inflammatory for the headache and body aches
- Optional glutathione — supports the liver’s alcohol-processing pathway
The two grades on our menu — The After Party (standard) and The Resurrection (the heavy-duty version, for the ones where you question your life choices) — differ mostly in the add-on stack.
Why it works so fast
Alcohol is a diuretic. A big night leaves you measurably below plasma volume — which is the main driver of the “everything hurts” feeling the morning after. IV fluids restore that in 20–30 minutes, versus 4–8 hours of oral rehydration on a nauseated stomach. Add a prescription-strength anti-inflammatory and you’ve hit the headache from two directions at once. Add anti-nausea and the churning stops. Most clients describe the difference as “night and day, before I even leave.”
Common scenarios we see
- Bachelor and bachelorette parties — Park City, downtown SLC, Sandy-area wedding weekends. Groups book ahead, morning after.
- Wedding receptions — the bride and groom often book the morning after
- Post-concert crowds — USANA Amphitheatre and Vivint Arena shows
- Holidays — Super Bowl Sunday, New Year’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day the following morning
- Work trips — the “I have to be in a meeting in three hours” client
- Tournaments and pro events — fans visiting for a weekend at Real Salt Lake, Jazz games, PGA stops
What a hangover drip doesn’t do
It doesn’t reverse liver damage, doesn’t make you sober (you sober up with time, full stop), and doesn’t prevent a hangover from the next night. If you drink alcohol in genuinely worrying patterns, IV therapy is the wrong tool — your PCP is the right one. For the normal “we had a good time, now I feel terrible” situation, this is what the drip is for.
FAQ
Can you come to a hotel or Airbnb?
Our clinic is in-office only. If your group is staying in Park City or downtown Salt Lake, the drive to Sandy is 20–30 minutes.
Can a whole bachelor party come in together?
Yes. Call ahead and we’ll block the room. 4–8 clients at once is routine for us.
Will I be okay to drive after?
Yes. IV therapy doesn’t impair driving. Just make sure you’re not still above the legal BAC limit from last night.
Is Toradol safe with alcohol still in my system?
We screen this at intake and won’t administer Toradol if it’s clinically inappropriate. For most clients the morning after, it’s fine.
