What’s in the drip
- MIC (methionine, inositol, choline) — “lipotropic” compounds involved in fat metabolism and liver processing. Often referred to as MIC injections; we run them as part of a drip or standalone.
- L-carnitine — shuttles long-chain fatty acids into the mitochondria where they’re oxidized. Notable for clients on structured training programs.
- B-complex + B12 — energy metabolism support when calories are down
- Saline base — rehydration (often overlooked during a cut)
How this actually works (and doesn’t)
The mechanism of MIC and L-carnitine is metabolic — they support the pathways by which your body uses stored fat for energy. The honest scientific caveat: these pathways work best when the rest of the system is also working, which means a caloric deficit, adequate protein, and sufficient activity. If those aren’t in place, no drip is going to produce meaningful weight loss by itself.
We describe this drip as supporting a program, not replacing one. Clients who already have a routine dialed in — whether that’s Noom, WW, a peptide protocol with their physician, a bariatric post-op maintenance plan, or simply disciplined diet and gym — are the ones who get the most from this drip.
Who this is (and isn’t) for
Good fit:
- Adults with a structured nutrition and training program looking for metabolic support
- Clients on a physician-supervised weight-loss program who want to complement it
- People recovering from a plateau who have audited their intake and training honestly
Not a fit:
- Anyone expecting weight loss without diet and activity changes
- Clients with untreated thyroid, metabolic, or endocrine conditions that should be addressed medically first
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Anyone with a history of disordered eating — we won’t treat weight-loss as the framing in that case and will encourage a different program
Cadence
- Active phase: weekly for 4–6 weeks
- Maintenance: bi-weekly or monthly, tuned to how the program is going
- Standalone MIC injection: some clients prefer a quick MIC shot between full drip visits
FAQ
How much weight will I lose from the drip alone?
Effectively zero, in isolation. Combined with a disciplined program, clients often report steadier energy during a cut and fewer plateaus.
Is this the same as a GLP-1?
No. MIC and L-carnitine work on fat metabolism. GLP-1s work on appetite signaling and gastric emptying. Different mechanisms, different outcomes.
Do I need a doctor’s note?
Not required, but we strongly recommend this drip be part of a broader program. We’ll ask about it during intake.
Will the B-vitamins make me jittery?
Not typically. Some clients report steadier energy for a day or two — more “not running on fumes” than “caffeinated.”
